REGISTRATION FOR FALL SOCCER IS CLOSED
Rec U5-U10 (birth years 2015 - 2020)
Registration deadline: August 1, 2024
Season: September 3 thru October 29, 2024
Tuesdays and Thursdays | 5:30 to 6:30 PM
Location: MLC Soccer Complex
Competitive U9-U13 (birth years 2012 - 2016)
Registration deadline: August 1, 2024
LATE REGISTRATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED
If school soccer is available to your child, they should do that first. Your child is always welcome to do both. Games are played on the weekends and practice times are set by the coach. Remember if your child is entering 7th grade,10th grade, or has not had a sports physical within three years, one is required in order to register for school soccer.
U9/U10 Players (birth years 2015-2016) can choose between the following two options:
Rec: Practices are Tuesdays and Thursdays, no games
Competitive: Practices are set by the coach and all games are played on the weekends. The team might travel to Rochester, but not the Cities. Your player will need a competitive uniform.
REGISTRATION FEES
Rec: $55
Competitive: $100
The competitive registration fee covers SMSL registration and field maintenance. Competitive players will need a full uniform kit. We are using the same purple and white uniforms from the past 3 years. If the uniform still fits, you do not need to purchase a new one. If you need to order a uniform for your player, a link to the uniform store is posted below.
COMPETITIVE UNIFORMS
If your player will be switching to competitive in fall and does not already have a uniform kit, we recommend trying to find one second-hand as the club will be switching to new competitive uniforms in 2025. If you need to purchase any part of the uniform kit, a link to the uniform store is posted below.
A full uniform kit costs $128 and includes:
Purple Home Jersey
White Away Jersey
Purple Shorts
Purple Socks
White Socks
Pieces can also be purchased individually.

SCHOOL SOCCER VS CLUB SOCCER
Birth Years: 2011 & UP
If your child attends New Ulm Middle School or New Ulm Area Catholic Schools, and they are entering 7th or 8th grade in fall, they will be eligible for school soccer at New Ulm Public. Varsity, JV and C-Squad all practice together at the NUHS practice fields on North Highland, or at NUHS Stadium.
MVL students entering 9th-12th grades in fall are also eligible to play at New Ulm High School.
If your child attends St. Paul's School and is entering 7th or 8th grade in fall, they will play on St. Paul's Middle School team. I apologize because I am not familiar with their registration process, so please go by whatever information your school sends you.
New Ulm Public typically opens their registration at the end of July or early August. A sports physical within the last three years is required to register. When you schedule that appointment, make sure you specify it is a sports physical as they are different than an annual physical.
Cathedral and MVL students, I believe you will register through your school activities registration process.

New Ulm Public: There is a Parent-Athlete-Coach Meeting scheduled at NUHS on Monday, August 5. The first day of practice will be August 12.
Players can do both school and club soccer. School soccer takes priority and club soccer supports that. Club soccer only has teams up to U13 in the fall and registration goes by birth year, which means your player could be birth year 2011 entering 7th grade and not qualify for club soccer, but another player could be birth year 2012 entering 7th grade and they do qualify for club soccer.
