Parent Information

The following document contains information about the various levels of New Ulm Soccer as well as equipment required for each level.

Parent Run Organization

The New Ulm United Soccer Club is a parent-run, volunteer organization. The parents of all children in the program are expected to make a strong commitment to the program.

Volunteer Hours requirement for the summer season:

  • 1 full volunteer opportunity is required for each family.
  • Opportunities are offered in 1/2 or 1 increments.
  • $200 volunteer deposit is required (YOUR CHILD CANNOT PLAY UNLESS WE RECEIVE THIS DEPOSIT)

We collect from you a post-dated check to be cashed at the end of the season for any incomplete hours. The check will be destroyed once your hours have been fulfilled. You will drop off this check at the mandatory check-in night.  Volunteer opportunities are available under the Dibs tab at the top of the page.  If your child only plays in the fall, you are not required to complete volunteer hours or turn in a deposit.

Things for Parents to keep in mind

  • Stress fair and sensible play with your child.
  • Stress the importance of teamwork.
  • Applaud good plays by both teams.
  • Your job as parent is to cheer on your child, the coach's job is to coach them, and the referee's job is to ref. Respect others and let them do their job.
  • Respect the coach’s decisions and abilities.
  • The sidelines are not a place to shout personal instructions to your child.
  • Don’t force your child to decide whether to listen to you or to the coach.
  • Remember that coaches and administrators are volunteers.
  • A “thank you” every once in a while to coaches is welcomed.
  • Accept the decisions of the officials with good grace.
  • Take time to learn the rules of the game.
  • Never lose sight of the fact that you as a parent are your child's greatest role model!
