Financial Assistance

The United Way of the Brown County Area will once again be offering Youth Activities Scholarships for the upcoming year.  The scholarships are designed to help families with activity and equipment fees, or who are unable to get assistance through other scholarship and grant programs.

Scholarships are available up to $200 per year (August 1 to July 31), per youth for 80% of the activity fees and 50% of equipment costs.  Please note, this is a decrease from $225 from previous years.  Additional changes include:

  • Semi-annual Payment – Approved scholarships for annual activities will be allocated semi-annually, August – December and January - July. Eligibility for the second payment is based on verification of continuous enrollment in the activity.
  • Cancelation or Postponed Programs/Activities – Due to COVID-19 related activity and program cancelations or postponements, all unused scholarship funds must be returned to the United Way. Scholarship dollars are designated for a specific activity or program during a specific time, therefore cannot be used for a different purpose or same activity or program scheduled for a later date. Each child will be credited those scholarship dollars once they are returned to the United Way and can be accessed by the child within the United Way’s fiscal program year.
  • Youth Activities Scholarship program should not be used to cover lab fees that are required for a school credit class.

Please see the below documents for more information.

A form needs to be completed for each player.  Please complete the form and mail along with income documents to NUUSC PO BOX 273, New Ulm, MN 56073.  We will complete the organization portion and mail to UW.
