VOLUNTEER POLICY

Updated February 1, 2026

The volunteer year is January 1 through December 31.

If the volunteer hours are not completed for the previous year, the family will owe that volunteer deposit and will be required to submit the volunteer deposit for the current year. The child will not be able to play if this is not completed. Families who do not plan to volunteer can pay the volunteer deposit in full at the time of player registration.

Volunteer hours are not transferable and may not be rolled over from year to year. Compassionate exceptions may be issued upon board approval.

********

The volunteer hours requirement is a 4-hour minimum per family. Volunteer opportunities vary in duration, and some families end up going a little over 4 hours as it is a minimum. You may choose to pay the $350 volunteer deposit up front if you do not plan to work your hours. If you do not work your hours and do not pay up front, the $350 charge, or a pro-rated amount if you work partial hours, will be processed in early January 2027. Families who are brand new to our soccer club will have a reduced requirement of 2 volunteer hours (to clarify: this is only for families who have not had any players in our club before.) When volunteer hours become available, we will notify everyone by email, and they will be posted on PlayMetrics under the Volunteer Signups tab.

Here is a list of the core operational volunteers we will always need to keep our programs running. When these positions are filled, our programs are in a much better position to thrive, so please consider them - no experience necessary! Any Coach, Team Parent, or Board of Directors position will cover your hours for the year. Serving as a Board Member for two full years fulfills lifetime volunteer credit.

We DO plan to have hours for the Gerten’s fundraiser and Snack Shack again this year.

We DO NOT have any information whether Flandrau concessions will be offered again this year or not.

Here is a list of opportunities we have offered in the past that we do not plan to offer this year: Ball shagging at high school varsity girls or boys soccer games, bartending at the Brown County Free Fair, New Ulm Home Show.

Our last volunteer opportunity of the year is typically field cleanup in mid-October. If you plan to work your hours (vs pay the deposit), please get your hours done by then.

Thank you so much to our awesome group of families.
The purpose of the volunteer hours is to keep soccer our main-focus and keep operations running smoothly. We could not do it without you!
