Why do we have to register so early?

A great deal of time and effort goes into assigning teams and ensuring that we have enough coaches. We also have to complete skills assessments, order uniforms, coordinate practice times with field availability, complete background checks and training, submit team rosters to MYSA and SMSL and finalize game schedules.

If practices are canceled due to weather, will you reschedule?
Competitive coaches will do their best to reschedule games and practices. Rec practices will not be made up. We keep the cost of the Rec Program low partly for this reason. We also feel it is best to be done before the 4th of July holiday because families and coaches get busy with other activities, family vacations and back to school.

How will I know if practice cancels?
We do our best to make weather-related calls by 3 pm on the day of practice; however, if bad weather is predicted but has not started, we will delay canceling as long as possible. To avoid missing these notices, it is very important to download the PlayMetrics app and turn on notifications. Competitive coaches will communicate with their teams regarding weather.

How many volunteer hours do I need to complete? 
Each soccer family is required to complete 4 hours.

How will I be able to get my volunteer hours done?
Volunteer opportunities will be posted in PlayMetrics as they become available. Our seasons depend so much on the weather, so it is hard to plan for these opportunities too far in advance. Being a board member, coach, assistant coach or team parent will fulfill your hours so consider one of these spots! We are always looking for help! The volunteer year is January 1 thru December 31, so it is ok if you do not have your hours completed when your season ends. My child has never played soccer before.

Our Rec program will be perfect for you! It is a short season designed to teach the basic skills of soccer with limited to know travel involved and minimal equipment required.
