$10 per hour payout if volunteer hours are not met
You will be contacted via email from time to time with opportunities where volunteers are needed. You will sign up to volunteer through a link provided in the email.
Below is a list of some of the activities where volunteers are needed.
You will be in charge of unloading either the Hy-Vee or Cash-Wise can trailer on a regular basis; the volunteer director will assign one to you.
You earn 20 hours for this and it is a yearlong volunteer position.
If at the end of the year you are no longer interested in this job, please alert the Volunteer Director a month in advance so they can find someone else to complete this task.
Coaching (Fulfills 100% volunteer hours)
Coach two or more practices a week.
Number of tournaments and games determined by the level of play.
Donate pans of bars
Serve in the concession stand
Grill for the concession stand
Preseason / Postseason Field Maintenance
Assist the fields manager with setting up / taking down the fields for the season
Takes place on a Saturday in the spring and fall.
Team Parent (Fulfills 10 hours)
Provide parents a roster of the team’s player names / numbers.
Assist coaches with collecting pictures and assembling member passes for each player.
Maintain a current list of email addresses and phone numbers for all families on the team.
If necessary - make phone calls/send emails or texts if families need to be notified about last-minute changes in practice or game arrangements. The coach might also handle these notifications themselves.
Maintain and update information on the team’s area of the NUAYSA website. Training on how to update the website is provided.
Help arrange carpools via email, text or phone calls to make sure everyone has rides to out of town league games. Those carpooling generally meet at and leave from the Walgreen’s parking lot.
Assist coaches with planning for out-of-town multi-day tournaments.This includes locating hotels at which team families are encouraged to reserve rooms. Usually there is not more than one multi-day tournament per season.
Work with the Fields Director to create a schedule of volunteers from your team to maintain the lines on the team’s assigned field(s). Since some teams might share fields, you might have to coordinate this task with the team parent from another team.
Mow the area where the lines are painted, generally once a week.
Do not paint the lines. Someone else takes care of this.
