This will be the place to find all the information that is sent out via email or home with your player, just in case anything gets misplaced. Check back often for updates.
If you are not receiving all of this information directly via email please go to the board tab (on top) and send a message to Sheri Melville, the webmaster. Thanks.
Below is an order form for our ESPN fundraiser. This is an easy and profitable one - we keep 75% of the money, or $30 for each subscription ordered. If every player purchases or sells just one subscription we could raise over $2000!!!
It's easy - fill out the address information and make checks to NU Soccer Boosters. We only send $10 per subscription to ESPN and we keep the rest. It is a two year subscription to ESPN magazine - 52 issues, arriving every 2 weeks - for $40.00. On ESPN's website a one year subscription is $26, so this is a great deal. It can be used for new subscriptions and renewals.
If you don't want a subscription, give one as a gift or ask your dentist, eye doctor, lawyer - anyone with a waiting room with magazines. Someone also suggested that this could be a great gift to someone in the military.
We will send an order in on September 19th - a week from Monday. Orders can be mailed to Becca Koelpin at 906 North Broadway, New Ulm 56073 - or hand delivered at a game or through Josh or Abby Koelpin. Questions? Email Becca Koelpin at bkoelpin@hotmail.com or call my cell at 507-766-3915.
Dear Parents/Players,
Once again while the kids are gearing up for the playing season we, the boosters, are gearing up for the fundraising; which is essential to keeping this program running. As you know the soccer program is not funded at all by the district and, as of this year, is no longer funded by NUAYSA. From this point on the entire bill of approximately $10,000 per year will be paid by the boosters.
Thankfully, we knew this day was coming and we have been working diligently to raise funds over the past years. While we have enough for this year, we need to continue to fundraise to ensure the program remains viable. This year we have a number of different strategies to do that. The first two are our apparel and peach sales.
Attached is the peach sale form. We will be selling Colorado peaches (the best tasting ones by far!) for $30 a case. A case is approximately 16#. This is very close to the regular price at HyVee, obviously as a fundraiser we are making a bit of profit. Please print off the order form and collect orders and payment ASAP. Orders and money need to be turned in to the coaches at Monday’s practice - 8/29. Or, for the boys, at the potluck that evening after practice. The peaches will then come to the New Ulm HyVee on Wednesday, September 7. The truck arrives at 9:00 am and each player will pick their orders up and deliver them. All peaches must be picked up from HyVee by 8:00pm. The timeline for this sale is tight because the peach crop is in high demand and the supply to meet that demand is not quite as high. This will be our major fundraiser of the year, replacing the Yankee Candle sale we have done in the past. If you have questions about the peach sale, please contact me (Sheri Melville).
There will be various other smaller, less time consuming fundraisers as the season progresses (Shop and Share Day, Herberger’s Community Days, ESPN magazine sale) as well. While we do not expect every family to participate in every fundraiser, it is our hope that each player will at least contribute in one or two. At this point, the future of high school soccer will depend on it.
If you are interested in becoming a part of the boosters, or finding out more about it, please join us at our next meeting on Monday, September 12, 7:00, at the New Ulm HyVee in the café area.
It is school policy that parents wishing to take thier child home from a game vs. having them ride the bus must give a completed form to the coach before doing so.
